Why I Chose Ukraine as the GEO

I’d successfully launched Nomidol in other countries before, so I decided to run it in Ukraine. I chose it because traffic there is cheaper and the audience is more familiar to me. And it seemed easier to find creatives and pre-landers for.

Campaign Approach and Stats:

I used my own trusted account and ran traffic through a cloaker. Managed ads through Ads Manager.

I started with a $15/day budget per campaign. After 20–25 leads (while Facebook was still in its optimization phase), I increased the budget by 20–30% per day β€” or kept it flat if the lead cost was rising. The maximum daily budget was $62. Based on my observations, going higher caused lead costs to spike sharply. Average cost per lead: $2.63.

What Creatives Were Used

My overall approach was teaser-style.

Example creative

Ad copy typical for teaser networks:
A home method “kills” fungus 100%! Takes just 4 days…
Fungi are actually afraid of this cheap…

I used three to four creatives per ad set:

Creative breakdown by performance

I didn’t use creatives in Ukrainian β€” Russian-language creatives performed just fine.

For the pre-lander I used a variation adapted from the Nomidol domestic version β€” http://gribok-1rub.nomidols.bloggers24.ru/ β€” reworked to a classic model. I embedded the order form directly in the pre-lander. Ran using the API.

Final Results

A 76% approval rate was a pleasant surprise. Based on the affiliate network’s pre-lander, I built my own versions and kept running from additional accounts (the original account from this case study was eventually banned). Conversions and approval rates remained excellent.
