Interview with an Edu-Revenue Representative

It’s been a while since our last article — we’re making up for it. Today we have an interview with a representative from Edu-Revenue. Ekaterina will tell us about the essay niche, conversion rates, traffic sources, and share a few useful tips. Let’s get into it!

Hi. Thanks for agreeing to the interview — tell us a bit about yourself and about Edu-Revenue.
Hi! My name is Ekaterina. I’ve been with Edu-Revenue for over three years and currently hold the position of Head of Affiliate. The program is one of the oldest and most stable in the market — I’ll say that without any false modesty 🙂 We’ve been in the essay niche for over 5 years.

Give us a quick rundown for beginners on the essay niche — how does payment work, what’s the commission structure, and what are refunds?
We provide academic writing services for students at English-language universities, schools, and colleges in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and other English-speaking countries. Payment is triggered when a client places an order. In other words, affiliates drive traffic, a client places and pays for their order, and the affiliate gets their commission. We pay 55%–75% on new orders and 20%–35% on repeat orders — those are sometimes called rebills. The average student order value is $135, which means the average affiliate commission per order is around $74. Order values range from $10 to $5,000 depending on the complexity and type of academic work. On average, a client places up to 10 orders with us in their first year — so the commissions really add up 🙂

From what I understand, you’re an international program — which countries do you accept? And which GEOs perform the best?
Yes, we only work with international GEOs. The ones we accept are: US, UK, CA, AU, SA, IE, NZ, and AE. The best results come from the US — it accounts for 80% of our traffic, so we encourage everyone to focus there.

Tell us about traffic sources — where can you send traffic from and what’s working really well right now?
The main sources are doorways, SEO, PPC, and social media. Doorway traffic converts the best by far.

What’s the click-to-lead conversion rate? And what can someone expect to earn from 1,000 clicks on average?
It depends heavily on the traffic type. Doorways typically convert at 5–7%. Targeted traffic can reach 10–30%. And it depends on whether those 1,000 clicks are targeted or not 🙂 With targeted traffic, figure 100–150 clients, each with an average order of $135. That’s $13,500–$20,250 from first orders alone.

Interview with an Edu-Revenue Representative

You offer a White Label option — the ability to build your own essay brand. Tell us more about that feature.
Absolutely! We offer White Label for our affiliates. They tell us the traffic source — doorway or SEO — and within a week to a week and a half, we put everything together, test it, and hand over a fully ready website.

Do many affiliates use this option? In your opinion, what’s more profitable — sending traffic to an established brand or building your own?
Quite a few affiliates come to us asking for a White Label build. Either way, you can’t send traffic directly — you need an intermediate page, and for doorway traffic, White Label is the best option.

There’s a strong seasonality pattern in the essay niche — is that right? Which months are the most profitable? And when should you pause traffic?
Yes, there are two main seasons — fall and spring. The fall season runs from September through December (peak in November), and the spring season from March through June (peak in April). That’s when students are most actively ordering papers, and affiliates earn the most. Don’t pause traffic in the off-season though — orders still come in, just fewer than during peak months. Also, Australian students continue studying through the summer, so orders keep coming from them too.

Can beginners break into the essay niche? Or is it too complex and better to start elsewhere? Share a couple of tips for newcomers — I’m sure they’re reading this too.
Of course they can — everyone starts somewhere. Yes, this niche is fairly complex, but it’s also very profitable. My advice: register and reach out to your account manager. We’ll be there to help you understand the space and get up and running.

Drop a useful tip or life hack that will really help our readers working in the essay niche.
It’s very individual — it depends on which traffic source you plan to work with. We have case studies for different traffic types and would love to share them with our affiliates. Just reach out!

Thanks for the great interview — wishing you continued success!
